I have tried to avoid mainstream media, but I have found it impossible to hit zero and there is still plenty that gets through. I don't purposely watch the news at all on TV, though my missus does put the BBC on quite often and inevitably I will catch a bit - it usually riles me straight away so I am best off leaving the room quickly. In terms of written media I do subscribe to the Daily Telegraph which is perhaps the least worst of the mainstream lot, but I wonder if zero news is too much the other way? I know not to take stuff at face value now - I didn't need MSM to teach me that particular lesson - perhaps I just need to avoid the outlets who produce the stuff that I know will wind me up. I do like an easy life....
Thanks for your feedback,Jon, as always very much appreciated. I believe it is near to impossible to completely shut out MSM and in small doses, to know and understand what’s going on, as well as being able to understand peoples behaviours, it’s even necessary - even if it does wind us up at times. Happy Sunday
Zero news is too little. It's good to know when the angry mob is coming down your street, or if an internet outage is apocalyptic. I don't follow much news, a few Substacks for Western current events and maybe a Youtube. Tousi TV in the UK is decent on Youtube. My missus keeps me up to date with the mainstream, like yours, and I'm fine with that.
Since we are on the subject of conspiracies and presidential election races, you cannot dismiss the fact that President Trump is not an American savior. He facilitated what happened to us. He allowed the country to be shut down, facilitated the injury and death of millions worldwide from an injection with an experimental cancer immunotherapy device, and succeeded in destroying his own legacy, which would have been vibrant economic growth benefitting working and middle class Americans. The only thing he has left that sets him apart is he is the only president in my memory who did not involve us in new foreign wars. In his current campaign, he has abandoned truly conservative voters without whom he cannot win.
I believe you are right concerning the news. I suppose we all have to individually see how much of it we can bear and not let ourselves be sucked into that spiral.
I also agree that Trump is not a savior - there is only one - yet he is, in my opinion, at this time the best option. When I look at the team Harris/Walz I have shivers running down my spine - and not of the good kind. Thank you for your feedback JS, it is always welcome and very much appreciated. Happy Sunday
