Tanja, congratulations on leaving FB. I did it eight years ago and rarely even think about it. I never signed up for any other social media account. Don’t know what I’m missing there but I suspect it’s nothing particularly helpful. I prefer the grit of the real world.
Thanks for the insights Tanja. It is clear that social media has become a trap and that the algorithms are very clever. I wonder if it is appealing because we can avoid the challenges and pain of real relationships? Mind you I never was on Facebook so I don’t know!
Spot on! I believe that that is exactly the appeal to many as they can dive into this world of "perfection" where they can reinvent themselves and live the life they desire. And I can assure you that you did not miss a thing by not ever being on Facebook!

Makes sense. I do like to get some updates from remote family and friends. I’ve muted many others to get the politics and posing out my feed. Mostly. 😂
Good on you for dumping Facebook, it is a cesspool of negativity, not to mention a privacy nightmare.
Thank you so much for posting about FKJ. I had never heard him before and I really enjoyed the link you posted. I'll be putting him on today so I can listen to more of his catalog.

I have FKJ playing througout my house right now and love it! My husband came out and said, "What is that music you're playing? I really like it!" I think he will be on in this house regularly from now on. I'm going to go buy his albums and EPs now to help support his music. Thanks again, what a great way to start a weekend!
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean so much to me.
I am glad that you can live in a country where the culture is still more sociable than elsewhere and I am sure you will tackle the language very quickly. Where in Spain are you?

I am with you on preferring the real world at any given time!

I’m down to about one visit a week there. Can’t quite bring myself to fully shut it down, though.
It's a start... I waited for quite a while and once the decision was made it was easy and I don't miss a thing.

Congratulations. I nuked mine in 2011. The only one I was still on until recently was Nextdoor.
Thank you so much, it was truly a relief to press the delete button!

Thank you and I am happy you enjoyed the song as well. Let me know how you like more of his music.
