Hope is such an important element of life Tanja and thanks for reminding us that there is hope when things seem hopeless. It is interesting that the Book of Proverbs (13:12) tells us that "Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when desire comes, it is a tree of life". There are many complex ideas here but we should never defer hope.
I am so grateful for your continued support and encouragement, Reuben, as well as your wisdom. I agree fully with you and I am convinced that there is always hope as it is something we can actually choose to have.
I wonder what is it we should be hoping for? Nietzsche famously hoped for terrible things to happen to his friends, I believe, and I assume he liked them! The bad things in life do certainly teach you stuff about yourself and others. Though it's nice to have a holiday from them sometimes.
Dear Jon, thank you so much for your feedback. I believe we have a lot to hope for and even if it might sound a bit tacky (and I admittedly do like tacky at times). The one thing we should always hope for is love and kindness in our lives. These are things that keep us going, or at least that works for me. We are the sum of our life experiences and I suppose it is up to us to decide what has the greater influence on us - the good or the ugly. Happy weekend, Jon
Yes, I think you're right, we should be hoping for those things - it would be absurd to wish for anything else really. Happy weekend to you too, it's my last offshore weekend this trip (under current planning) so I am hoping for happy things at home soon!
