I don't believe there is a topic that has been written and sung about more than the topic of love. No topic occupies us more than love. And now I'm going to add my two cents - again.
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” — Dalai Lama
I know I have written a lot about love and relationships - I do believe important topics - and even if you are sick and tired of it, bear with me.
It is my unwavering belief that love is what at the end of the day keeps everything together, keeps us going, and makes life worth living.
In this day and age, I feel a great lack of love in general, or you could call it compassion, or empathy.
“A very small degree of hope is sufficient to cause the birth of love.” — Stendhal
What struck me with both assassination attempts on Donald Trump was the hatred and spite that immediately poured out on social media and even the mainstream media. So many were complaining that the shooter missed Trump and that they hoped there would be more (successful) attempts on his life.
There is no compassion whatsoever and this truly frightens me. It shows clearly how the toxic narrative that is being pushed on us is bringing out the worst in so many people, even blaming Trump for these assassination attempts. There is an absolutism here that is extremist. If you're not in our favour, you're automatically against us and therefore a target.
And watch how Hilary Clinton sees how the media should work…
Even in Germany, where knife attacks and gang rapes have become the order of the day and the victims are marginalised while the perpetrators are not only victimised but are acquitted or released on probation. Sadly, these crimes are often committed by illegal immigrants.
Humanity is at a turning point, as is the moral compass of many people who have given in to the continuing gaslighting and the vile rhetoric. The plandemic re-educated - unfortunately quite successfully - many people from social beings to self righteous, insensitive, selfish pricks.
Yet it is so strange that the left is constantly preaching DEI (Diversity - Equity - Inclusion), yet it is causing the greatest division and intolerance amongst people imaginable. It is becoming more and more difficult to find trustworthy information anywhere. I can only speak for myself and don’t listen to people who need to shout, scream, and vomit their convictions all over the place, I do not trust things I cannot easily understand. Everyone needs to find guidelines for what they believe and what not. I am convinced we would win a lot with more love, compassion, empathy, listening, and communicating respectfully with one another. When we stop taking and continue preaching we all eventually lose. If we continue - on all sides - to be so unbelievably aggressive towards different views while simply refusing any form of dialogue or civil discussion and expecting acceptance, we are completely delusional.
Apart from love and compassion, it needs values and common sense, as well as facts - not feelings - to make a comeback.
This post has turned out quite differently from what I originally had planned and as always you get my unfiltered thoughts. I was even considering changing the title but I do believe that the power of love can change everything - always the hopeful optimist!
“Love's greatest gift is its ability to make everything it touches sacred.” — Barbara De Angelis
🎶My Song for you
Was an easy choice today. It is this amazing version of the song What The World Needs Now by Tom Jones and the legendary Sammy Davis Jr. - simply brilliant!

📚My Poem for you
Is by Max Ehrmann (1872-1945) written in 1927
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Lake Starnberg has many moods Tanja and I love the way that you capture them. It has been interesting in relation to your topic, the way the "joy" has been touted by the Harris campaign. I suppose what we are dealing with is fake joy and fake love.
Jesus set an impossible standard - as reported in Luke Chapter 6:
"If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! 33 And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! 34 And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return.
35 “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. 36 You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate."
I know that for me, the challenge of just loving family members is a great place to start that impossible journey!
Thanks for challenging us to think more deeply about what love means.
Struggling to find the good in people these days. Feeling too much anger over what has been done to our country and the world by those in power who do not serve God. We all know, or should, that when you take God out of everything as liberals have done, you must replace it with something. The Left has decided to replace God with themselves. They are their own God. Cult like people who seek power and money for themselves instead of serving humanity. We must expect more from those who lead or we will surely go the way of Rome.
