One of the few independent journalists in Germany is Boris Reitschuster. Unfortunately the once respectable profession of journalism has shrunken to a handful of open minded representatives of their guild. I want it share an article with you that was published on 2. February 2025. Here is the link to the German original and I took the liberty of translating it for everyone else. I truly believe that we need open, calm, and respectful conversations. We most likely all want the same thing - a good, peaceful, healthy, and prosperous life. When discussion end violence usually begins. How long until it escalates to a point where it cannot be stopped?

Live History Lesson – A Sinister Staging
Street terror, media manipulation – and the perpetrators stage themselves
(Defend the right to ASYLUM - abolish MERZ and AFD)
Across the country, left-wing street terror is raging against the CDU. Offices are being attacked, party members fear for their safety, are branded as a “danger,” vilified in the media, and subjected to psychological terror.
And then comes today’s news: a mass demonstration in Berlin. Tens of thousands take to the streets.
Against this political terror?
Against intimidation and violence?
No. Against “the right.”
Effectively, then, against the victims of this violence.
Because in the eyes of these “decent” people, the CDU is now considered “right-wing” itself. Their reality is so distorted that they declare those being threatened to be the enemy and celebrate their own moral victory in the streets. The perpetrators march – and their victims are framed as the threat. I deliberately use the word “perpetrators” – because those who act in this way share responsibility and thus, even if they are mere followers, become accomplices.
At times, it feels as if I am sitting in a history lesson – but not as a student learning how totalitarian structures emerge, rather as a spectator forced to watch them unfold in real time.
I am stunned; I am outraged. I cannot believe that what we are witnessing is simply being accepted. Those who constantly chant “Never again!” are precisely the ones repeating old patterns – under new pretences, but with the same destructive mechanisms.
All the warnings we heard in school, all the lessons learned from history – they have been cast aside. Right before our eyes! And woe betide anyone who dares to speak up! They are immediately defamed. Even worse: those who resist are dehumanised – with the worst insult imaginable in Germany – being called a “Nazi.”
And the worst part? It works.
The vast majority seem to believe that this development is somehow different from the very things history has warned us to be wary of. That this time, it is “the good guys” doing the inciting. That this time, “the righteous” are not only tolerating violence but encouraging it. That this time, it is “against the right people.”
But they fail to understand that their grandparents or great-grandparents fell into exactly the same trap. That they too believed they were “the good ones,” the “righteous,” and that it was “against the right people.” That many others sensed something was wrong – but instead hoped it wouldn’t get too bad. That the madness would soon pass. That it was best to keep quiet, keep their heads down, avoid getting involved. And that they, too, only realised the extent of their mistake – if at all – when it was too late.
They do not see that the methods are the same.
Enemies are created.
Propaganda constructs a false reality.
Language is manipulated to distort perception.
Opponents are dehumanised, portrayed as a “threat to humanity.”
There is “legitimate violence” against the “evil ones” – and a hierarchy of outrage over who is allowed to be a victim and who is not.
Those who disagree are socially ostracised – fear prevents critical thinking.
Dissent is criminalised – opposing views are considered a threat.
It is no longer enough to smear opponents – they must be silenced. We see it today with so-called “hate speech” laws, censorship of opinions, and the criminal prosecution of government critics.
One would think that all of this would be obvious to everyone. But millions, perhaps the majority, do not see it. Or do not want to see it.
This is no longer about political differences. It is about decency, the pursuit of truth, the last remnants of moral integrity and democracy. And that is precisely why one cannot remain silent.
It is almost physically painful for me to witness all of this. I feel a deep sorrow, but also a growing, dull anger. Anger at the fanatics who are leading this new triumph of totalitarianism. And at the followers. The cowards who sense that something is wrong – yet remain silent because it is more convenient. Because they are afraid. Because they do not want to take risks. Because they hope it will not affect them.
But it will. It will affect us all.
Those who remain silent now will not be able to excuse themselves later. Because there have been enough warnings.
It was never just the fanatics who shaped history – they were always a small, radical minority. What mattered was the silent majority that let them do as they pleased!
Tyranny can only exist if “ordinary “ people do the work .
It’s sad how deliberately divisive life is now & how violence is increasing.
Its good you are witnessing and writing about what is happening in Germany.
