I need to share this article by the idenpedant German journalist Boris Reitschuster published today. For my German readers here is the link to the original article
For all others, I took the liberty of translating this article which shows a new reality in Germany and I assume many other countries as well.
Scenes straight out of a horror film: Syrian with machete shakes Essen
Car as weapon and fire: migrant injures 31 people

You have to compare the news today to realise what crazy times we live in. That's how I felt today during my Sunday reading. I first came across a post by my colleague Henning Rosenbusch on Instagram, which consisted solely of a juxtaposition of two headlines in the Bild newspaper. Instead of describing them at length, I'll simply present them to you here - I think they speak for themselves to such an extent that any further commentary is superfluous:
Headline left: Scholz signs deportation deal with Turkey
Headline right: Erdogan's government denies deportation deal
The extent to which we are being taken for fools and lied to is phenomenal. And you can bet that none of the so-called ‘fact-finders’ will pick up on this blatant case of deception, even though it would be their job. If they hadn't perverted any understanding of journalism and instead of looking the powerful in the eye, professionally discredited and slandered those still trying to do just that?
Unfortunately, we are already used to such deception and ventriloquist journalism. What I can't get used to is the first news item that jumped out at me today when I opened the Bild website. Which is a dubious pleasure even on normal days, and something I only put myself through because I have to do it for a living! Be glad that you are spared this. But today, opening the page was particularly painful.
‘Essen (NRW): Police arrest man with machete here - he injured 31 people.’ This headline jumped out at me in large letters. Below it is a man with a huge machete and a beard. The text continues: ‘A video shows how the armed Syrian (41) spread fear and terror in the Ruhr region on Saturday evening. He set fires and crashed his van into several shops. 31 people were injured, and two children are in mortal danger.’
According to the fire brigade, the horror began at around 5.10 pm on Saturday in Essen-Altenessen. According to the police, the man set fire to a house on the corner of Altenessener Straße and Pielsticker Straße. He then drove to Zollvereinstraße, where he started another fire in a house. According to the police, a total of 29 people were injured in the fires, and according to the fire brigade, as many as 31 people were injured. ‘Dramatic pictures show parents handing their children into the arms of a helper from a gutter. Two injured children are in mortal danger,’ the report states.
It continues: ‘But the perpetrator had obviously not had enough. He got back into his van and drove to Katernberger Straße. There he crashed the van into the window of a greengrocer's shop. He reversed and rammed the shop front again.’
The man then headed for another shop on Katernberger Straße. There he got out and pulled out a huge machete. Videos on social networks show the perpetrator threatening people with the weapon. You can also see how passers-by keep him at a distance by throwing objects.
Scenes straight out of a horror film.
Police officers were eventually able to confront and arrest the perpetrator, apparently in a shed next to the greengrocer's shop that he had rammed with his van. The man had burns on his hands. The police initially gave no details about the background to the offence.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to get used to news like this. I don't want to become numb. I don't want to dismiss it, as many people do these days, by saying: ‘What's the point of getting upset?’ I think that if you stop getting upset, you are part of the problem.
What is astonishing in this case is that at least Bild (and apparently also the authorities) are clearly naming names and not playing the usual game - and only talking about ‘one man’ in order to disguise the origin. It is also remarkable that the newspaper did not hide the news further down the page, but instead ran it as the ‘lead story’ at the top of the page.
Very rare.
On the front page of Die Zeit, the central organ of the left-green intellectuals, there was no mention of the crime on Sunday lunchtime. Apparently they don't want to worry their target audience - or only want to worry them with the right topics. Lead story: ‘Election in Austria: Is Austria on the brink of a shift to the right?’ The main thing is to trigger the ‘right’ fears. Imported violence on the doorstep is ignored, a supposed ‘shift to the right’ in Austria is capitalised on. A little further down is the headline: ‘Success of right-wing populism: the main thing is that the others are the fools.’
A reference to Scholz's lie about the deportation deal? Not a word. Why criticise the government when it is so much more convenient and fashionable to rant against ‘right-wing populists’?
The Süddeutsche newspaper does feature Essen in the ‘Most important news’ section - but the headline is displayed there in tiny print alongside five others, and any reference to the perpetrator's origin is avoided. There, too, the red-green core readership apparently does not want to be confronted with the disturbing reality and brought out of their bubble. Not a word about Scholz and the ‘deportation deal’ there either.
The once conservative ‘Frankfurter Allgemeine’ is pandering to the red-green party with its lead story instead of providing information about the crime in Essen: ‘A mayor sees himself in the fight against big business’ is the headline. The news about Essen is only the fifteenth item on the front page - and very small. Headline: ‘Arrest after fires in Essen with 30 injured.’
The left-wing ‘taz’ completely fails to mention the crime on its homepage - instead, it features headlines such as ‘Associations demand protection for women’, ‘LGBTIQ+ in Bulgaria and Belarus’ and ‘CSD in Görlitz and Zgorzelec: Pride party under police protection’.
All of these examples show how the major media manipulate by prioritising. This is nothing other than propaganda. When in doubt, the really important opinions are hidden somewhere in the small print - in other words, effectively suppressed, because hardly anyone reads them there. But that's how you can fool simple minds, who then respond to criticism like mine here: Well, they didn't hide it, here's a link.
Just as it is said that every country has the government it deserves, it must be added: Every country has the media it deserves. It's just a pity for the minority, to which you probably belong if you read along here, who don't want to be lulled into a false sense of security, who don't hide from reality - and who suffer from the whole red-green madness as much as I do.
How is crime developing in your country? How does the MSM react to rising crime?

Tanja - this is such an important post as information is siloed and I hadn't even heard about the horrific story of this man in Essen despite the large numbers of people injured. Governments have created problems for citizens by their immigration policies and here in Australia, we have just taken in a number of Hamas sympathizers in the name of "humanitarianism". This can't be an accident and the underlying plan has to be complete disruption of society. The two side by side headlines demonstrate how difficult it is to find out "the truth" and now governments are trying to outlaw disinformation and misinformation - which are really defined as anything governments don't like. It will increasingly be hard to find what is really going on. We're in a mess.
I'm working in Türkiye at the moment and it's interesting to speak to the guys there and learn how concerned they are with immigration. They border Syria of course, so they got hit by the first waves of people fleeing the fighting, and they have certainly got a substantial anti-immigration lobby there. It's young people too who are concerned, they're not afraid to voice their opinions.
Anyway, thanks for highlighting articles like this, I would never handover been able to read this otherwise. Cheers, Jon
