TROLLS - AND THEIR GUTLESS THREATS

I have been writing my newsletter for a little over a year now. My topics Change & Evolve and I have also taken the liberty of expressing my personal views on the subject of COVID, its measures, politics, political correctness, as in Special Issue #36

It is and always has been important to me to emphasise that these are MY personal views, which no one has to share, and that I am always open to respectful discussions. My last issue seems to have triggered something in a reader.

The result of that not only hit me at first but also taken me completely by surprise. I received an anonymous email with the following content:

"Stop writing about things you don't understand and spreading stupid lies. It’s because of stupid and ignorant assholes like you that people are dying and people like you need to be made silenced. It’s idiot and bitches like you and those others that spread all the lying conspiracy theories and you want to take away our freedom. Crawl into a deep hole and stop this shit. I hope you get really bady sick and die and nobody will help you. I know where you live."

When I received this I was not quite sure whether to laugh or cry. What saddened me most about this email - apart from spelling and grammar - is that the sender doesn't even have the guts to give his or her name and sends it anonymously. I tried to send a polite reply, offering to discuss this but it bounced back and I am guessing the email address has already been deleted.
So if the sender of this message reads this and I am guessing he or she is, I would like to still offer you the opportunity to go into a conversation with me. I can only second guess what made you write such an email to me. Perhaps it is anger, frustration, insecurity, shame, or any other negative feeling that led to this. What I can definitely say to you is that it is ok and if it helped you to get something out of your system then I understand.
